    Safety Notes
     
    The following are some general rules that we would like the coaches and league officials to follow when dealing with equipment, facilities, and uniforms. Prevention is the key to reducing accidents. Please report all hazardous conditions to the Safety Officer or to a Board member immediately.
    bullet One of the home team coaches will walk the field prior to game time to inspect the field for hazards – including problems with fences, rocks, glass, holes, etc. undefined undefined
    bullet Check home plate and the base areas for proper landscaping and connections. undefined undefined
    bullet Inspect the dugout area and benches for hazardous items. undefined undefined
    bullet When equipment is issued, the coach will inspect the equipment for defects. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will inspect their team’s equipment on a regular basis during the season to ensure that everything is in good working order. undefined undefined
    bullet All batters will wear Little League Approved protective equipment. undefined undefined
    bullet All helmets must have the NOCSAE seal, which can be found on the outside back of the helmet. undefined undefined
    bullet If a player chooses to wear a personal helmet it must be NOCSAE approved. undefined undefined
    bullet Bad, unrepairable equipment will be destroyed. undefined undefined
    bullet Ensure that all players have and use required equipment at all times. undefined undefined
    bullet Any adult warming up a pitcher will use a catcher’s mask. undefined undefined
    bullet Team catchers will wear catcher’s gear and helmet when warming up pitchers. undefined undefined
    bullet All catchers’ masks will have a "dangling" type throat protector. undefined undefined
    bullet All catchers will wear appropriate chest protectors. undefined undefined
    bullet Proper equipment will be used at all games and practices. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will teach the players about the proper use of equipment. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will teach the player about proper throwing, hitting, and catching skills. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will teach the player about warm-up and conditioning techniques. undefined undefined
    bullet Only the player at bat can swing a bat. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will encourage batters not to throw bats as a part of the follow through on a swing or in frustration. undefined undefined
    bullet All batting and catching helmets will be inspected regularly during the season. undefined undefined
    bullet All batting and catching helmets will be reconditioning during the off-season. undefined undefined
    bullet Each league will use appropriate balls and bats. undefined undefined
    bullet Reduced impact balls will be use by the lower divisions. undefined undefined
    bullet Metal spikes are not permitted. undefined undefined
    bullet Jewelry is not to be worn by players during games. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will encourage the use of protective cups, especially infielders. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will suggest the use of mouth guards, especially corner infielders. undefined undefined
    bullet Coaches will monitor the weather for storm situations. undefined undefined
    bullet Player base coaches will wear helmets. undefined undefined
    bullet Only 3 adult coaches are permitted on the field for each team. undefined undefined
    bullet Games will not be started unless the safety of the participants can be assured. undefined undefined
    bullet Lightning rules will be followed when appropriate. undefined undefined
